THE ULTIMATE BLACK FRIDAY GUIDE FOR NEW PARENTS

I managed to save over £1,000 on my baby essentials checklist.

I did this by using sales, including Black Friday, to my advantage. So, if you're prepping for a little one's arrival, here are a few tips to help you get the most out of Black Friday this year, plus some savings you won’t want to miss:

1. DO YOUR RESEARCH

Before the sales begin, spend a little time researching what you actually want, especially the expensive items like your pram. Knowing the exact model you’re looking for means you’re ready to buy as soon as the price drops, instead of spending Black Friday morning comparing features and trying to decide last minute.

💡 Cubbi Tip: If you’re unsure where to start, our Cubbi blog has loads of product recommendations and a helpful 'buying the baby essentials' guide to help you understand what you need and how much you should be spending.

2. ALWAYS COMPARE PRICES

Black Friday prices can move around a lot, especially in the final week of November. It’s worth checking a couple of retailers before buying anything, because discounts can jump up or down throughout the day. Black Friday itself usually brings the biggest drops, and Cyber Monday can be better for tech like monitors and pumps. If the price doesn’t get you excited, waiting a few hours (or a day) can sometimes work in your favour...as long as stock isn’t running low.

💡 Cubbi Tip: If you don’t find the deal you wanted, Cubbi has year-round parent discounts so you’re still able to save after the sales end.

3. PRIORITISE THE SPENNY STUFF

Black Friday is the perfect time to shop the items that usually take the biggest bite out of your budget. Travel systems, car seats, nursery furniture and baby tech tend to have the most noticeable savings, especially if you already know the brands you prefer.

💡 Cubbi Tip: Cubbi has ongoing savings on some amazing baby brands like Ickle Bubba, Cosatto, Chicco and Mabel & Fox. Brands like these are worth keeping an eye on during Black Friday, as the discounts can be even bigger.

4. TIMING IS EVERYTHING

Black Friday is usually strongest for prams, car seats and furniture, while Cyber Monday tends to be better for tech. Some retailers release their best offers overnight or first thing in the morning, so it helps to be prepared with your list and ready to check early...the best deals can sell out fast.

💡 Cubbi Tip: Use Cubbi to check which brands offer parent-only discounts so you can decide where your money goes if the Black Friday prices don’t drop as expected.

5. DON'T OVERLOOK THE SMALLER ESSENTIALS

The smaller items you use every day can add up quickly, so Black Friday is a good time to stock up without overspending. Bottles, sterilisers, muslins, swaddles, bibs, sleepsuits, bedding and baby toiletries often get strong discounts. Brands like Momcozy, Tommee Tippee, ergoPouch and Bibado tend to run good offers at this time of year, and they’re great for building out your feeding and sleeping essentials.

💡 Cubbi Tip: All of these brands are on Cubbi, so you’ll continue to save on feeding, sleeping and daily essentials once Black Friday is over!
